Young virtuoso musician Jake Murdoch releases Making It Easy, the follow-up to last year’s Free Spirited Baby, which introduced the Brisbane-based singer-songwriter and multi- instrumentalist to the world. The new track is another country pop-rock gem written with one of the winners of Australia’s most significant country music competitions, Toyota Star Maker, Max Jackson, and featuring special guest artist Russell ‘Rusty’ Smith on didgeridoo.
Recorded at The Recording Room with Scott Whatman, Making It Easy features a direct and universal lyric, accomplished performances and a notable chorus hook that has sing-along written all over it. As Jake says about the new release, ‘This song is about how everyone is always rushing around in life and how we just need to take a break sometimes and take it easy.’ Jake has won a swag of awards, including Tamworth Songwriting Awards (TSA), International Songwriting Competition (ISC), Capital Country Music Association (CCMA), World Songwriting Awards (WSA), QMusic/Queensland Music Awards and was a 7 News Young Achiever nominee.
He has also won awards in various festivals and talent competitions and worked with Tania Kernaghan, Max Jackson, Robbie James, Asabi Goodman, and Vicky O’Keefe. Jake is currently working with Andrew Farriss, co-writing a new song which will be released at a later date. As well as his wide-ranging musical abilities, Jake also sings in other languages—Making It Easy has been recorded in Japanese and Spanish. With an accompanying video and Jake’s growing reputation, Making It Easy is sure to generate widespread radio attention and streaming action.
