Izellah releases ‘Where Nobody Knows Me’
Izellah, the young and gifted music artist who hails from the sunshine state, has just released her new single Where Nobody Knows Me.
This new song follows on from the enormous success Izellah has had in the past six months with a string of pop releases that have attracted across the board media attention and helped solidify her growing fan base. Her songs are hooky, joyful and full of fervour and fun yet always manage to retain a contemporary edge.
This latest is no exception. There is a common thread to most of Izellah’s songs and this is usually related to self-empowerment and self-improvement. With this latest, Izellah is exploring themes of self-reflection and the fulfilment one can find by taking time out for oneself.
It’s a pertinent and powerful message, especially in this age of constant social media engagement. As Izellah sings, ‘I like it when I’m dancing on my own, to my favourite song’, which might seem at odds with what a teenager might be prone to want to spend their time doing, away from the company of friends, so Izellah’s declaration becomes an interesting take on the typical theme of a pop song. Beginning with a simple acoustic guitar pattern, it ushers in Izellah’s distinctive voice and the uncomplicated verse melody. This is followed by a pre chorus melody that rises a little, taking its cues from the verse and leads, in a very natural and effortless way, into the chorus, where the melody has more of an urgent tone.
