New Zealand based music artist Emme Lentino has just released a pop-rock version of a classic track that you are no doubt going to be hearing a lot of soon. Emme’s strident version of Last Christmas follows the enormous success of her last release Some Other Girl, which was recorded in London and produced by Al Clay (Pink, Adam Lambert, Backstreet Boys, Stereophonics).
Some Other Girl had it all: hooks, a blistering sound, and Emme’s dynamic vocal performance, and Last Christmas is no different. Originally from Oregon US, Emme’s brand of pop, soul and rock has seen the singer-songwriter, musician, film producer, and actress go from strength to strength establishing a global presence and a loyal fan base. Emme’s version is an exciting interpretation, retaining the song’s melodic sophistication and strength of course though imbuing it with a magnified and impassioned supercharged quality; Emme’s expressive and commanding vocal.
Last Christmas is a great testament to this multi-faceted singer-songwriter, musician, film producer and actor’s notable, burgeoning career. Emme is no stranger to excelling in various artistic mediums, over the years Emme’s tracks have been featured in several daytime television shows including ABC’s One Life to Live and All My Children and she has also performed in a successful off-Broadway production as well as collaborating with DJ/producer Vasili Gavre, writing, recording and performing a song that was included in the Victoria’s Secret national BIOFIT campaign.
Emme’s song catalogue has attracted airplay worldwide in all continents with her voice earning her early comparisons to Norah Jones, Natalie Merchant, and Gwen Stefani. Emme’s Last Christmas takes the iconic song to surprising places, utilising a mix of styles including country, pop, and touches of rock; all the while maintaining the heart and soul of this beloved track. Emme Lentino’s reinterpretation of Last Christmas is sure to be one of this year’s festive holiday season smashes.
